More Pricing Confusion

I'm trying to clarify the pricing for upgrades to Live 8 Suite. It seems that
1) Upgrade from Live Lite\LE to Live 8 suite costs $319 (with a free upgrade to Live 8 suite)
2) Upgrade from Live 7 full costs $349
Is it really more expensive to upgrade from a full version of Live 7 than it is from Lite\LE? I thought the upgrade would be cheaper from a full version.
It seems the worst upgrade prices to 8 are for owners of Live 7 full version.
Thanks
Richard

Still doesn't make sense even with the coupon.
Shouldn't the gap from Lite\LE to Live 8 suite be bigger than the gap from Live 7 fill to Live 8 suite?

i think you might be a bit confused...
sooo, if you are new, you get live7 for $399(dl)/499(box) and an upgrade to 8 for 59/99,
7 suite for 649/849 upgrade for free download, and prolly 100-300 for box.
if you have lite or le, it's 299/319-upgrade to 7, then 59/99 to upgrade to 8,
and 609/729-upgrade to 7 suite then free for download suite 8, and prolly 100-300 for suite 8 box.
now, i have 7 suite, so not sure if prices will be different for current standard 7 owners, but my upgrades to 8 and 8 suite go like this- live 8 189/229, and 8 suite 229/299. plus a $30 off coupon (rather minus=). so i imagine people who have standard 7 right now will have a slightly higher 8 suite upgrade price...
make sense?

all right, the upgrade to live 8 suite from le/lite will cost you 609 dollars, if you take advantage of the "can't wait for 8 promotion".

No it's $319 because you upgrade to Live 7 suite and then get a free upgrade.
See what I mean?
Oh I dunno ...

NOW I get it ... When I clicked on the "upgrade from Lite\LE" to check the upgrade price from Lite\LE (out of curiosity), it gave me MY upgrade price (i.e. from Live 7 full) not from Lite\LE.
Yes, I think I've got it now. Am expecting a confused email back from Ableton customer support now.

I don't understand the confusion. When you log in to main ableton-page (not the forum), all your registered stuff is by ableton and so they make your personal prices for your upgrade, depending on the software you have. That's fair!
For me for example: I have L7, operator, sampler, drum machine:
to upgrade only to L8 (downlowd) it's 149 €
now the fair surprise: uprade to L8 suite (download) it's 239€, because i have operator, sampler and drum machine
upgrade now from L7 to L7suite (download) it's now 229€
so what's my choice? I get only for 10€ more the upgrade to L8. And i have for all options 30€coupon.
I want to say, wait a little bit. Now you can't get the L8. And with the new Akai APC40 there is in a few month another option for the prices. Perhaps the new akai includes a very special price for L7-owners to upgrade to L8.
