are you sure ?
I'm looking for infos about that too... especially about the price !
if you're right, max for live cost = max/msp cost (i intentionnaly omit jitter, cause I guess this kind of object won't be included)

the point is this. The live 7 engine did not support sysex messages, it would not even let them through. So if max for live features sysex commands like max 5 does the engine of live 8 must have been ganged? Did it? that's all I want to know!

don't assume things about how they are gonna work together. max for live may be using the max engine while using a 'window' into live, so if the max engine is running separately it has the ability to output sysex without lives approval... all I can say is a little bird told me max for live will be able to do anything that max can do.

No official comment, but Live will be able to handle sysex via maxforlive.
And that is so cool

fortunately live 7 can at least output sysex. i'm hoping live 8 will accept sysex natively.

For all practical reasons, maxforlive will be natively. Its build into the program.
So its safe to say Live8 can handle sysex.
Cheers

live 7 outputs sysex via liveapi.
for any practical reason, mfl isn't native. for general control of live, i'll be sticking with liveapi. mfl has exciting features, but i don't think it should be necessary to get good communication with live.

That's actually good news, so with that in mind Max for Live
should be able to translate sysex for Live. We won't know until it's released though.
