Are Live7 warped tracks compatible with Live8`s "new warping engine"?

Do I have to re-warp my library?

:?

With out actually knowing anything at all, I would say absolutely not.

That would be shocking and stupid.

Actually, I would guess that they're 100% "backwards" compatible, with the ability to re-warp if so desired. Other than that would be shocking and stupid.

they finally splurged and sprung for elastique pro. now we'll be up to Fruity Loops standards.

the other warping improvement, and possibly of more use to many people, is the update to Beats mode. the new 'transient' mode

It keeps the old method of warping on every 16th, but now it has another (new) mode that detects the transients and slices only on them. If you understand what that is then you will appreciate how huge this is.

In short - imagine you have an old funk break and you want to warp it in L7, it slices on the 16ths - but that's not really where the hits are, perhaps there is a long cymbal in there so it can sound weird and choppy, even weirder if you start to mess with it. In L8 those hits are detected, that long cymbal is just fine, all the off beats warped exactly where they land.

well, hopefully you get it

I would think that they would be backward compatible as well.
I was just wondering.
