I can't find anything in the Live 8 featurelist that they have implemented
userdefineable keycommands which is my and many many other's most wanted feature.
If so i will definetely not upgrade.
Compared to Cubase 5 it looks like a very poor upgrade anyway

really? the absolute most important thing of any feature you could possibly have is user definable key commands?
that's just, shocking..

I think most modern apps should have this feature. Complete customizability is really where it's at. However, Live doesn't have near the amount of key commands that a DAW like Logic does so I can't imagine it being a deal breaker, it's not that much to learn.

actually the fact that it doesn't have many key commands (compared to other daw's) is the "problem".
In Live you have to use the mouse for a lot of things for which there simply is no key command.
But I think I read that Live 8 did have some more keycommands so let's wait and see which ones they added.

Customizeable key commands and actions/macros are a BIG thing for me; the more customizeable, the better the workflow!
I was recently reminded by someone here of Vitamin L, which addresses this quite thoroughly. I'm looking forward to trying it out:

I think the video said there are some keycommands for midi operations, but i didnt remember the word "customizable".
Really unbelievable if they are NOT customizabe. Is it so difficult to make them customizable? I wouldnt say i wont buy the thing just for this but man...once you have the keycommands, customizing should be a must!

no it didn't say customisable and I'm sure they won't be or they would have mentioned it.

Can we cofirm at this point Live 8 WONT have customizable keycommands anyway? I mean, public beta has not even begun..couldnt we ask in the Feature wishlst forum once it begins? I just cant imagine this being so difficult to implement. But maybe i am wrong..

Not the same... but on Mac you can create and customize keyboard shortcuts for any menu item in Ableton Live. (or any other app)

No idea on how it works with MFL, but as of right now, there are no custom key commands in Live 8. Confirmed.

Well you can't have everything, but it would be cool
HOWEVER!!!! Before we all start whining our heads off, they do say in the video, added a load of new MIDI commands, so I'll happier in that area for sure.
Let's see what they've got.

I use emacs on a daily basis to write code. Not having customizable key commands pains me whenever i'm navigating around the arrangement view. It could be a ton of work depending on how internal commands are described. But it would definitely be worth it for usability sake.
