i dont know much about binaural beats but for a long time i ve been into cymatics - look up the “webs of maya” on youtube and the ability of frequency to alter consciousness -
just to make it clear im not into the new age approach of all this stuff before anyone thinks im away with the fairies
as far as i understand, binaural beats is where you layer 2 frequencies that are slightly different to each other - say one at 440hz and the other 430hz and the effect is a pulsing drum like sound
lots of people are into this for stimulating various activity in the brain and various effects - i guess meditation is the obvious one
im more interested as to whether it is possible to produce frequency which can trigger dmt release from the pineal gland !!

Binaural Beats, Cymatics and Magick
Binaural Beats - Do you own Operator? (or any other synth that will allow you dial in a fixed frequency) What type of waves are you curious about working with? (Beta, Theta, etc...)
Cymatics - Can you share some of your studies on cymatics? Have you done any experiments with this yourself?

im going to get operator when i upgrade from live 7 to 8 suite ... mmm
i have a couple of plug in synths and also own reason so i can rewire to abe ...
i was trying last night to create a binaural beat by using a part of bird song and zooming in part of the waveform in sampler and drawing a long ass midi note to create a constant tone - i then duplicated sampler and tried dropping the pitch down a little on one
did nt really get the affect that i wanted but might read up more tonight
also i have a book on dmt by Rick Straussman (dmt - the spirt molecule)and might contact him about the possibility of doing this - (stimulating the pineal with sound) .. also to produce serotonin
ive done dmt in a very respectful environment and synesthesia is a very prominent experience during this

Analog synths ftw - oscillators can often easily go into super-sonic territory, then line up two and you're off.

Is that what you are looking for? Interestingly enough I just sat through a presentation on this effect on children with ADHD and the data concluded that there was a statistically significant result of binaural beats normalizing beta waves. The result of which was demonstrated in the results of computer based repetitive task testing. Pretty cool stuff. On a side note, there are websites out there that sell "experiences" derived from binaural beating recordings:

i know there are places selling binaural "experiences" but i am very cautious about anyone presenting something from a new-age sort of angle - i just find it all too airy-fairy
i ve lived in santa cruz, byron bay and grew up close to Glastonbury it nurtured a resistance in me to most things coming from a new age angle -
at the moment i ve seen lots of things which are said can promote brainwave response to beta, alpha, theta and delta
im interested in something that would trigger out of the body experiences or alter how we dream (so i guess that is delta) but being able to stimulate response in the pineal is something i would love to be able to do
my friend recently listened to some stuff which he said made him feel totally tuned in after listening to it and also afterwards he read an article about eq-ing and he felt like he almost had the experience of photographic memory after reading it
he didnt have to refer back to the article once to remember what to do

binaural has nothing to do with any of that. a friend of mine records rock shows in binaural.
it's simply making a recording by placing microphones where headphones would go. really cool technique but I think you have it twisted.

i guess its your opinion whether you think that there is anything else to binaural techniques - you re entitled to it - i dont share it
