Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Is there a way to control the opening of a group track (collapse/expand tracks) with the apc (or another midi controler) ?

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Hello everybody, I'm a sort of a newbie, and received yesterday my apc40.. i like more than a lot.
I also have a Maschine that i use to do my drum programming.
What about Max for life?
Where can i get that?
I'm running my apc40 with live 7.0.16, and as a newbie don't understand where are those Max for life applications described in the vids.
thanks everybody.
Peace.

It's not out yet, those vids are from people who have beta versions.juampi1969 wrote:Hello everybody, I'm a sort of a newbie, and received yesterday my apc40.. i like more than a lot.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
I will be buying an APC 40 in the very near future.
One thing I was wondering about the Clip Launch section and MIDI channels:
If I press an unlit Clip Launch button corresponding to an empty slot in an armed MIDI track while the project is playing, will the button create a MIDI clip in the empty space that continues in length until I press the same Clip Launch button again? (thus causing the MIDI clip to play in a quantized loop.)
I have transport buttons on my Axiom 25 set up to do this (one press creates a clip and the second press loops the clip according to the Global Quantize).
Thanks for the help

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Another question:
Is it/will it be possible to customize the APC 40's Clip Launch section to emulate the Drum Pad features as shown in the new Launchpad video?
If so, is it/will it be possible to switch between a normal Clip Launch mode and a Drum Pad type mode with the press of another button?
Thanks again for the help

If not, it will stop any playing clip in that track.

question 1 - yes but you will not have velocity sensitivityAxis Mundi wrote:Another question:

question 2 - yes, maybe 2 buttons (shift + ___) (but you still will not have velocity sensitivity)

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Is there an updated version of the 'apc40 Live 7 edition'? Notice the Launchad comes with a 'Launchpad Live 8 version'.
Any apc40 Live 8 edition available?

Yes, it comes with the apc.RajahP wrote: Any apc40 Live 8 edition available?
But if you have the latest version of 7 or 8, you don't need it.

I did not expect to have velocity sensitivity on these buttons since what I read about both controllers states that neither controls velocity sensitivity.
So am I correct in assuming that in terms of pure functionality/parameter control, there is nothing the Launchpad has to offer beyond the extended clip launch grid that cannot also be accomplished using an APC?
Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Just remember that LaunchPad does not require separate power supply, so it does have that benefit over all the other current controllers of this type (I don't know if anyone has setup the Monome for native support in Live)...Axis Mundi wrote:So am I correct in assuming that in terms of pure functionality/parameter control, there is nothing the Launchpad has to offer beyond the extended clip launch grid that cannot also be accomplished using an APC?
with that said, the new presets coming for apc from nativeKontrol.com in a few weeks, will have all the functionality available in these new ohm64 nativeKontrol.com preset videos (with the bonus of being mapped in colors to make the mapping easier to remember).
You may be more interested in the functions in the second half of the second vid...

Thanks again! Those links just made me wet my pants.
And not in the little kid way, either.
