When running XP under boot camp does all hardware (midi controllers, audio interfaces) work as it normally would under XP? Is anybody running Live in XP with boot camp?

The only special drivers under boot camp are Windows drivers for the mac specific hardware you might have - isight, trackpad, etc. so in theory there should not be any problems. Although I have not tried Live under Windows everything else I have used, including games, audio interface, TV card have been absolutely fine. Under Bootcamp your apps have no way of 'knowing' that they are running on a mac.

firewire audio interfaces are the problem. i know some people have managed to get XP to recpgnise their interfaces via the microsoft hotfix patches, but they won't install here as theyre for SP2 and i'm on SP3, so i've personally had no luck with my Saffire LE - it just isn't recognised by XP.

cool, thanks.

I've got a mac mini but I really prefer using XP when making music. OS X is still fine for running Logic, but I have a few windows-only plugins that I really like and my BCR2000 works better with XP for some reason.

I plan on running a Line6 Toneport UX8 (usb interface), MOTU micro lite (midi interface) and my controllers (padkontrol, axiom 61, and NI Kore)

I have a Macbookpro and run Live 7 with Windows XP all of the time.
My Mac formatted firewire Hardrives and PadKontrol work very well.
It would be a good idea to buy a program called "Macdrive", so that you can work with your Mac formatted drives.
