That price seems totally reasonable. If they made it an even $600 I'd be pissed and not interested.

I'll consider it after version 2 starts getting sold used for under 300.

I'm actually quite tired of using the mouse to browse samples/drum hits, so it would be cool. But Live 8 + APC40 + MaxforLive trumps all this year.

ya, and with m4land the apc you should be able to do the same. i think you just have to oad the samples manually

not really - there are no velocity-sensitive pads on the apc40

i am on the fence about it. i have gotten a lot of ni stuff over the years. how old is kore 1? they do not even support it anymore. are you going to get mashine and then not be able to use it in 2-4 years? i think hardware needs longevity. ni hardware seems to have a short shelf life and 600 is steep. i will say it is cool.

i do love grooveboxes also. but this more of a midicontroller that is integrated with software.would be cool for live acts i think

I already own Battery, which has a 12 GB library. I wouldn't mind having Mashine's additional 5 GB's of sounds. It does have some good sounds.

i think people who bought maschine and Live 8 are going to be unhappy that they paid for maschine. I think Live 8 with a controller will out maschine maschine. if ni had made it truly a hardware box with the added feature of being an super integrated controller then 600 would be a good deal and it might be worth it, but the fact is that Live is a stunning piece of software as it is right now and it's only getting better. I think in the longrun that maschine is going to be a flop for Ni.

I don't know. For people who don't use Live, and want a hardware drum machine feel, Maschine is nice. I think they may have to drop the price a little to make it a better deal, but I think it will be ok.

this software looks awesome like they really thought about people who like beats, it's like guru and drumracks in one but I think a little easier to use then either of them, I hope it won't be too expensive, I think it's going to put fruity loops out of business cause even in it's stand alone mode they don't give you any reason to go outside of the program and you get an incredible amount of work done, even alot of mixing (features they borrowed from live

), if they allow you to skin it yourself I'll be spending alot of time with this one.
