I know this is normally a pretty personal thing, but I am setting up a new Template and I am just looking for suggestions on what to put on sends, ie

1) Reverb Long
2) Reverb short (plate)
3) Delay
4) Delay
5) Delay
6) Drum Compression

Etc....

Style is mostly electronica, prog house, deep house.

depends on what you're doing...when I play live, I usually have one send with a beat repeat, dblueGlitch, and Livecut. I map the plugin on/off switch to keys, and then when I send to them, I can trigger them on or off. The nice thing with the send is that it allows me to mix the actual signal being send, so it's not as drastic. I can also send that Glitcher send to other sends, like reverb, which is nice.

Thanks Neb. I was actually setting one up in Logic as more of a production template. I forgot about putting Livecut and supatrigga on different sends. Thanks.

you can always use Live's FX and just play with the reverb decay/room size/early reflections etc, to shorten or lengthen it. Ditto delays. Live 7's compressor is very good too.

I personally like to use a plate reverb such as Audio Damage's reverence as a shorter reverb, with medium-large room/hall type delays as a second and/or third send.

Delays can be simple delay, audio damage dubstation, or PSP84.

Compressors on send - are you trying to do some kind of parallel compression, or the New York compression trick, where you EQ the lows and highs really steep, scoop some mids and then put an really in your face heavy compressed sound on, as a send and then bring it up underneath the original audio track ?

Also, I'd never use a send for the NY Compression trick. I'd create a second track, input the audio from the drum submix, and then I'd compress that and mix it in for thickness. Just my two cents. I suppose you could do that with a send, but I just wouldn't.

Right, in fact, the compressor in Logic can do Parallel compression without being on a send because you can control the dry/wet mix. So drums will be on a separate submix. See, I was being stupid and you guys found me out.
