So I put this together after watching Ruin Wesen's example video of how to make it on Vimeo.

Here it is fleshed out, bug corrected, threaded, etc.:

It's pretty straight forward live game of life algorithm sequencer. It doesn't make sound, it sends MIDI. You adjust the pitch classes, add octave scaling, randomize velocities and just plain old have fun.
