when you try to map the rec,ovr,play,stop buttons to macros you cant even though they are highlighted in green when in map mode. dont know if you should be able to do this but you are able to map them to MIDI...

So far no, it's not possible to macro map these. I'll lock this thread as there is no bug, please feel free to start a discussion in the Live 8 beta discussion forum.
