I have an Edirol FA-101, xp64bit with 4GB ram.

What would the best sampling frequency to use for live gigs be?

What is the difference in all the frequencies. 44-192

thanks for any information

I won't embarrass myself by trying to explain the technical differences between the rates.

I can say that for live, I would use 44.1 khz only, as anything higher than that will only tax your computer unnecessarily for an increase in sound quality that will be unnoticeable on any live system.

Hey!

I use the same soundcard and 96Khz is good with me. Amazing quality, but keep each channels leveling around -6 Db on Live :)

so you are saying to set the soundcard and the audio preferences to 96khz?

And are you meaning to keep the individual seperate audio channels in Live all at -6db at the max?

Thanks, any info would enlighten

Yes that is what I do. The Db setting has nothing to do with the sample rate. It is just to insure that there is no distortion. You can ofcourse pump it up from the amplifier.
Enjoy ! Let me know if it works
