Feedback Required.

At school so I haven't tested them yet, but the GUI's look really nice.

This is really good since I really need exactly this kind of processing plug ins right now...

Will give them a twirl tonight or tomorrow and see if I like them.

yo these plugins look sweet, I m downloadin em now and will test em out at home after work.

Are these just for Windows PCs?

That would be a shame, since they look really, really interesting and I'd love to give them a try on my Mac.

Any documentation available for this stuff beyond the readme.txt? I´ve never used these types of plugins to any great extent and may be in over my head

It'd be really helpful if someone who really knows their stuff could give them a whirl and give some feedback on the sound they put out.

it seems everybody is waiting for the one guy who tests them and writes the good review, or somebody to tell us that by tomorrow these plugs will cost what the uad plugs cost

dont sound anywhere near like the models thery are supposed to emulate

just a uad gui rip off

I've been using the limiter for a year now! Not that the content is super pro yet! I like the purple plug.

Hdrpbx: I've never owned the outboard stuff for these. How sure are you about your statement.

I wonder where I get a comparison ..If I would to model a hardware maximizer etc, Would the company supply raw data to the programmer.?

well to be correct i never owned the outboard stuff too, i just did some comparsion with my uad plugs, and they sounded very different, in a negative way
the LA2A emulation for example, sounded more like a brickwall limiter and it tends to squash transients , rather then that dynamic pumping effect, wich is typical of the la2a imo

got admit i only used the first versions tho,like two or three years ago maybe
, so it is possible that the guy did some improvements

Wouldn't suggest I know my stuff but... Antress plugs *have* improved over the past few years but still bear little resemblance to the actual gear the GUI's are based on. Iirc there was a thread way back on KVR where, after he'd been caught lifting the Teletronix LA GUI lock stock and rack screws, it transpired that, where Antress comes from, copies were seen more as a tribute than a rip off.

Sonically most you could happily ditch in favour of far better freeware (except for an old version of Painkiller which had a nice attack/release ime). In terms of compressors look at the likes of Bootsy's Density, TBT's TLs 2095/3127, Reacomp or Compressive. As for EQ's: ElectriQ, Bootsy (again), Pushtec 5A+1 or even Voxengo Overtone GEQ. Then again many of the above can be disregarded with the new EQ8 and Compressor 2 in Live 7.x - but any tool, even a badly coded plug, can be used to achieve a particularly bad result (sometimes intentionally)

+1 - they do 'smack' in the most realistic fashion you'll rarely hear outside of hardware...
