Ableton Forum

I'm having trouble using my Proteus X2 with Ableton as a VST plugin. The Proteus X2 works fine in standalone mode. I'm using a PC with XP Home.

When I open Live and it's scanning for VSTs it gives some error messages (I will post what they are a little later when I'm in my studio). Then when I drag the Proteus VST into a track it just freezes up and I have to end the program.
I'm not sure what to try to fix it. Thanks for your help. I'll let you know what the error messages are a little later.

Well today there was no error messages when I opened Live. However, Live still freezes when I try to drag Proteus X2 onto a track. Any ideas??

Update if anyone cares:
I discovered the VST dll file or whatever it was in two places on my harddrive. I removed one of them and then everything worked!!!...but
The next day Proteus X2 froze up Ableton when I tried loading it. Any ideas why something would be this intermitant? Thanks
