VST Organization

Hello all, I am wondering if this is a bug.

I have my VSTs organized in subfolders in my main VST folder like so:

VST Parent Folder \ FX (subfolder) \ Creator \ VST Folder \
VST Parent Folder \ Instruments (subfolder) \ Creator \ VST Folder \

I have found that in some cases some of the VSTs are not displayed in Live. If I then move the 'missing' VST to the parent folder and refresh Live, I can then see the VST.

Live is running on Windows XP professional with service pack 3 installed.

Has anybody else experienced this and is it a bug?

Well in my case i have all on STEINBERG/VST PLUG INS
You should try to move the .dll of the vsti that you dont see into the folder where all the rest are visble

Hey retrodisko,
That doesn't really answer the question. I know I can place all of the dlls into the VST folder but my point is that I wanted to organise them so I don't have to trawl through an endless list to find the one I want.

Unfortunately, Live can only see 1 folder, so you have 2 choices:

1. Put VST Parent Folder as your VST folder
or
2. Create shortcuts in 1 folder, then cut/paste them to the other VST folder.

I've got the following organization in vst folder:

fx (by creator name)
samplers (kontakt, sapletank, etc)
keys (piano, ep-s, organs)
synth (all of them, with no creator name)
drums

that doesn't seem right. I used to have all of my vst's as shortcuts in a folder.. and they all showed up in live. you sure you're shortcuts are all correct and up to date ? try pointing the vst folder to where the original vst's are and see if the 'missing'plugins show up..if not re-install plugins, recreate shortcut and try again etc etc
