I installed it and went through the motions and had a message of "internal error" or failed to connect the the server. I used the path_to_live/*.exe "%1" option and clicked on link in browser to see if things would move forward. I am running Firefox 3.0.6 as my default browser at the moment. Not sure yet if that is the issue or just that ableton.com is super busy server-wise.

When Authorizing the beta8b9 my system was completely halted, I was forced to cold boot the Computer. The problem occurs when Live connects for authorization (The green stripped bar shows and the PC stops responding).
Pentium 4 3.4 GHz, 4GB RAM,
Windows XP, IE Explorer 7 (Default)
TC Electronics Konnekt 24D Sound Card at 48 KHz.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox 3.0.6 browser and will be re-attempting this in a little while (on different system atm). I will report any additional information I see/steps I did to better flesh out the issue. I didn't have any problems with the system w/regards to halting or anything like that.

Ok an update (success this time!):
After loading live I get the requester box to register live. It shows requester box with: c:\program files\ableton\live 8.0b9\program\live 8.0b9 "%1"
which I selected. Upon selecting that I get a requester with: Live received an authorization request which appears to be incomplete or invalid which could not be processed.
I click ok, go back to browser and click on the link on the page where it says "if live doesn't open click here". At that point it continued and displayed the instruments, etc...and finished up. I tried that last night 3-4 times with no luck, even after a reboot. But this time first time through this morning it worked. I'm setting up the library/live packs now.
