Tablet pen support

How wonderful would it be if I could be using my Wacom pen with Live as I can with every other software and every plugin I use with Live.
Most of the interface works anyway, only sliders are extemely oversensitiv and impossible to set precisely.
Yes I have a mouse and yes I can enter some stuff numerically, but for me it would be a wonderful addition to be able to use 100% pen instead of switching all the time when moving a slider/rotary control (I hate the mouse with all my heart

)
I had hopes it would be possible in 8 but so far the beta doesn't improve the pen situation.
And no I will not switch to mouse mode, thank you very much
Thanks a lot!

Since a few days I'm a proud owner of a Schenker Tablet-Laptop. Yesterday I installed "Live" and tried to work it out with the pen. Thomas, you're right... the sliders are oversensitive - and the rotary-knobs are too!
I thought that's a problem I can solve by setting the tablet-drivers or the live-functions right ... but now that seems not to be the right way.
In case Thomas is right, please Ableton, try to make such thinks like Wacoms or Tablet-PCs work!

Yes and zooming/moving the timeline (which isn't much fun in live anyway IMO) is also weird.
I guess it's the old "virtual sliders" problem that was pretty common 10 years ago, even Kais Powertools didn't work well with a Tablet back then, and that was in the graphics industry where a lot of people use pens.
But today, Live is actually my only software (and I use quite a lot of apps) that gives this headache (or wristache

).
Would be very cool to get this fixed finally!
Thank you!

wacom pen in 'mouse mode' works fine, though that's not a real solution
my body loves pens more than mice

tablet support has been requested many many times, but seems to be problematic to implement. We've been told it's on the list for a future update but no timeframe was given.

Yes, I requested it also some years ago and got the same answer, but at the moment I have to have a mouse attached to my machine ONLY for Live which sucks.
I guess it will never be implemented if we don't keep asking for it.
I can't say how much work it would actually be for them - but everything else works just fine with the tablet in pen mode so it feels a bit funny that it should be such a big deal.
It could even be some hidden switch in an .ini file if they think it would confuse the average user or bloat the preferences.
Cheers!

yes +1 please fix. Wacom tablet is so much better then a mouse for me. Ableton Live is the only app that does not support the wacom tablet correctly. Faders, knobs, etc. seem to jump to max/min value and are almost impossible to set. Zoom is very hard to control and also wants to jump to max/min. And, I loose functionality over my MBP mouse in all other apps and the OS when I use the wacom tablet with Ableton Live.
