Live 8 Looper Question For Beta Testers

Hi I have a question about the live 8 looper. Say you've done a couple overdubs, can you then separate each layer after your done or are all the loops in one clip. It would be amazing to have say a drum sampler and a synth and just build up your beat, then have all the separate layers available for individual processing. Thanks and cant wait for Live 8.

you can use seperate loopers... or rack 'em up... just like any of live's devices...
build a mad looping scheme...

That reminids me, how resource-hungry is the looper?

Anyone tried to destruction test it by racking up dozens of dozens of loopers feeding into each other?

No, there's currently no way to export looper layers as separate clips. It's all one big audio clip. And remember: audio. So no post-treating of midi data etc.

However, it is dead cool. I've been hoping for such a thing for a long time.

It's also great in that it allows your playing to set the tempo for a song, if for instance you start with a guitar riff or a bass line.

The OP's bass line / synth scenario sounds like session view to me?

check this...

by phase inverting successive takes, you can hear (nearly) only the difference between the two. after you lay down a layer, 'Drag Me' that loop to a clip and you can extract the individual takes later.

sweet.
