[awi]b13 tab to firefox and back = unresponsive white screen

very odd one this.

If I open Live 8 b13 and tab to firefox and then back Live is unresponsive and the Live GUI is pure white.Live will then consume 50% of my CPU even though it isn't playing anything and has simply been opened!

I repeated this four times now as I tried to see what was happening (requires a forcible quit of the app), so the last few times I waited for about 7 or 10 minutes and it eventually relinquished the CPU hogging behavior and Live suddenly shot back to 1% CPU usage.
I did nothing to goad it back to normal.

When it has returned to normal I can tab between Firefox and Live as much as I want and it will be fine. It only seizes up the first time I tab away from Live

Pretty freaky, it has not done this with any earlier versions.
I will send a bug reporting snapshot, although I'm not sure what good it will do as I don't even press play in the set!

I had similar problems w/ the screen going black after alt-tabbing from firefox and other programs back to Live b11

Sometimes screen would go black and sometimes it would re-analyze all previously warped and saved MP3s. Seems to be working fine for me on XP w b13 though.

hmm, i tried it a few times this morning and had no problems at all so far.
Last night it would always hang (I tired it six or seven times), this morning - not at all.

well, it was worth reporting I suppose, and if the bug reporting snapshot makes any sense it may give some clue as to what happened.

I'll post again if the issue reappears

I am using two screens yes, as dualview where the displays are configured independently from each other. I suppose that could be a contributing factor, I really don't know.

I tried a few more experiments involving having either Live or FF's windows maximised, or windowed, or both apps windowed, then with either FF or Live spanning two screens, or both.
but no case seemed to re-trigger the issue.

I'm still baffled.

hi,
i use dual screen setup (xp sp2) and after a long time playing with live and third party apps, i encounter the ALT+TAB problem...
but it's totally random it does not happen very often
the only way i found to solve this is to reboot...

i think it' could be related to the background/foreground priority

in my setup i use :

Live 8 b13 (looper + vocoder + corpus + GTR rig)
MidiOx
Bluetooth app
vvvv

do you run live on the 2nd screen?
do you have the same resolution on both screens ?

for me it was really clear - as soon as I enabled the second monitor Live disappeared
