Will max let me save midi mappings as templates?

So I can load up a fully custom mapped operator by just dragging it on a track?

you can't drop Operator into max.

if you mean max4Live, nobody knows, it's not out yet.

probably not.

the answer exists, ever try automap? that's what it does.

thx tone

I´ve got a remote sl compact. Does it also work with live native stuff? The problem is its got only 8 knobs, and I don´t wanna switch around between the different parameters.

I´d rather have my BCR manage that. I guess automap is still for novation only right? I think its really a pity that I can´t get ahold of the midi map savings, which are somewhere saved within live, for each project independently, so why shouldn´t I just be able to load those files? :?

I´d really love to have my bcr control only operator... Every time I load it up its all mapped... That´d be fantastic.

They will be. But the question is whether Operator can be made to retain midi mappings. Perhaps through the official API with M4L?

wait, operator doesn't remember which midi cc# you assiged to it in a rack?

i've never noticed that before.

Rack mappings are not midi mappings.

of course it does. there are also buttons to switch banks of controls.

it works fine on the BCR but the SL implementation is better.

no. OK at this point I have to drop rtfm and 'use the forum search.'

well, people have done without it for decades, you'll find a way.

omfg man, automap, rtfm, search the forum, you're missing out on a lot.

regarding max4Live and all this, it's all rampant speculation.

thx tone, its new to me that automap works with other midi controllers aside from novation, I would never have thought so, thats why I didn´t search yet. thx!

actually they are..

but you are right, they don't save in the rack, only in the session..

that sucks.

tone deft is probably referring to live's own very limited "automap" user scripts where you can map a couple of functions (volume faders, sends, drum pads and alround encoders that will be mapped to pre-determined parameters of devices...).

I think a wee rightclick on your Operator>lock to control surface(BCR) may get you what you're looking for.

And you can customize Live's automapping, that would also help you.

Live's automap is a different animal from Novations automap, AFAIK.

Anyway, read up a bit theres tons of options.

Going for "Thick as can be", Tone?
So what if I want to use ALL 32 KNOBS on the BCR2000 instead of the 8 available knobs?

you can't, you know that, why bother posting?
"it works fine on the BCR but the SL implementation is better."

clearly Grappa can learn a few tricks with his gear, why not teach him instead of being a twat?
