Re: Midi experts please chime in.. simple connection ques??
Using a PC with MIDIOX and another MIDI interface to patch MIDI out to the PDX3000 is an option. I don't think there is a non- computer way to do it.
Re: Midi experts please chime in.. simple connection ques??
so i am going to try.. nanokey>>motu ultralite >> pdx3000 (ultralite connected to macbook).. bear in mind that ableton won't be open.. I am using serato on this laptop.. I could easily route the signal in ableton but it starts to choke up the cpu when i have ableton and serato open on the same macbook..
EddieJ.. are u saying i need 2 midi interfaces? I don't get it..
any other responses or ideas? I got desperate and did the unthinkable and called guitar center thinking they would know anything.,, waited forever on the line to get "i don't think the nanokey is made to control a turntable, that's why the connection is like that, no rca's".. i might as well asked for a midi to audio cable,, they are useless,, I just don't want to spend more money on things i don't need to get this to work.. some people say to get a regular keyboard w/ midi outs but i don't have the space and the nano key fits the setup..
thank you to everyone trying to help..

The nanokey only has a USB connector: you have to plug it to a computer.
Goes like this:
Nanokey>PC (USB connection)
PC>Ultralight (FW connection)
Ultralight>Turntable midi (Midi cable connection)
What kind of record are you going to play that you need midi control over the pitch playback?

Vestax C1 turntable costs $1400.. the pdx3000 w/ a midi keyboard can do the same thing for a 1/3 of the price.. it's more a turntablist thing.. nanokey fits close to the turntable so it's a good combo.. check the link below for an example of how one can use midi w/ turntables.. not everyones cup of tea but coming from a turntablism background, i love stuff like this..Green Lemon wrote:The nanokey only has a USB connector: you have to plug it to a computer.
