[4935] 8b14: Looper - Start glitch

I'm getting a short (1 beat) loop every time looper starts it's first loop after recording, then it loops properly and continues to do so.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, I can't find it on a search so thought I'd better post it. It's an obvious and repeatable thing for me with a completely fresh set so I've not emailed a snapshot. Let me know if you need one.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Hi Martyn,

Please help me understand:

- You create a new Live set with a Looper.
- You record something in the Looper (what are the settings?)
- Then? You go to play or to overdub right?
- And here, the first beat of the loop repeats, and then the whole buffer plays?

See, lots of question marks. I think the Looper settings may come into the picture here. We need more details and detailed description. Or maybe an event script.

Regards,
Amaury

Hi Amaury

Sorry for the lack of detail, I wasn't sure if this was a known bug as I thought I'd remembered someone mentioning something similar but couldn't find anything in the search.

I'll reproduce and do a snapshot.

Amaury, two snapshots sent.

The pic shows are the settings used.

I thought that Looper was playing a single beat at the start of every first replay but it seems that this varies. A more accurate description then is;

Looper just plays a short part of the beginning of the first loop recorded, also starting the sequencer. It then behaves normally until audio is cleared from it and the sequencer is stopped. On recording a new loop it then exhibits the same behavior.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

Hi,

Thanks for the details, it helped. In fact, what happens is that the looper starts the song, sets the tempo, and starts itself as expected, but if you watch the play arrow of the looper, you'll see it blinking: it waits for the next quantization point, for some reason, and re-launches then. That is the bug.

Amaury
