Please would ableton please create a video tutorial on the new warping, so many people are complaining, it is giving bad press.
A simple video would i think be a feather in the cap
I have to say, as a pro user, i am finding it harder than 7, takes much longer to warp a 4/4 house track for gods sake, let alone the breaks i need to warp.
Several Famous guys have got in touch and asked whats the deal with the new warping?
I warped a whole DJ set, to find, when the beta 8.014 crashed the warps were majorly wrong on reloading.

actually it is easier than ever
as Amaury said in the other thread - what you do is find the first solid beat - like the first kick drum - first beat of the main bar (not intro etc) then you double click on its transient then right click on it "set 1.1.1 here" and then "warp from here"
if it is a straight house track with constant tempo throughout then you can try "warp from here 'straight'"
once you've done that and worked out the main tempo etc then you can come back to the intro - easiest thing to do there is to just delete the ones before 1.1.1 (hold shift + select them) then hit ctrl/cmd+A to select all markers in the track and drag them all to the right so that 1.1.1 is still starting on a bar and the start marker is on the bar before the intro counts in
I just loaded in a whole bunch of James brown tracks to try it out - I was going to video it for you but TBH I can't be arsed, if you desperately need one then I will, but if you try that you'll find it's actually embarrassingly easy
Live is actually pretty good at figuring it out now
as for the crash/fucked up markers thing - this is a beta, not a free preview - the idea is you help ableton fix the problems

i gotta say i was feeling the same urked feeling about the warping situation (and I'm also missing being able to zoom on the top half of the waveform not just the little area at the top ...)
i tried the instructions about the transient warp marker, but couldn't seem to be able to move the transient marker to the proper part of the transient, this made everything funky still...
guess im going to have to keep trying...
however my wish is that we have the ability somehow some time to switch between the oldschool clip/wave view to the ultra hip super new better for you so like it view.... that way everybodys happy, no bad press.. the simple folk get their way and the hip new schoolers get to transe out...
but thats prolly too much to ask this late in the game...
