Prevent live from sending program change to tracks

So in this set I'm working on I have a track that sends midi to four other midi tracks. Trouble is that the track that sends midi also sends the program change messages to the other tracks. I tried creating empty clips with the appropriate program change messages but to no avail. Is there a workaround?
