[4831] inputs deactivated until selected in dropdown menu

I turned my Motu 828mkii on AFTER opening 8b15 and putting Looper on a channel. While playing my synth, all the meters showed inactive in the channel selection dropdown menu. When I finally chose the appropriate stereo inputs, boom! The meters showed the input.

Again, when messing around further (tried Battery3 then deleted it - which changed my looper track's input) the meters are showing inactive when sound input is present.

just saw this, again. I never keep track of which hardware is connected to what. for years I've been doing it where I bang on my MPC (for example) and hit the dropdown box to see where it's connected.
as it is now we have to select the input to get the meters to be active.

This one is fixed meanwhile. You can give it a try with the most recent beta, Live 8.0b26.
