scratching is something that I have never thought about... but now I am a little interested. I was wondering what different methods there were to scratch in live. I heard that there was a way to scratch using Simpler, but it never seemed to work... also what do you guys think of Musolomo?

Since this is just something you are a little interested in and not a NEED NOW! then I would wait for something to happen with the Serato collaboration.

Just my opinion.

$100 for Ms Pinky. take a clip you want to scratch, freeze it then have Pinky grab it from the 'processed/freeze' directory in your Live project. if you're really into scratching, $100 is a great price.

or wait for the Serato/Live collaboration to come to fruition. given the way Ableton makes announcements, I'd expect it around Q3 of 2015.

just get deckadance from image line, it lets you drop in a full 2 deck vinyl style mixer/scratcher (like traktor or serato) as a plugin, or even multiple instances for 2, 4, 6 or 8 decks, it's the vinyl style answer for ableton for sure, it works stand alone and as a vst, no proprietary hardware, any midi controller you want to use. imagine traktor as a 2 deck vst inside of ableton, that what deckadance can do, I used it extensively in live here.

http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=109393

it can be a little odd to setup the first time as the parameters will not appear in live's window in the traditional way, you map your midi controls directly into deckadance's interface.

all of the audio sample scratches on that set were from deckadance, the screaming synth scratch" is my own little trick.

hope this helps.
