Not sure where to post this, but since im getting more and more into using ableton live alone, the time has come where I need to create sub audio channels to processes certain tracks and sounds together.

Is this possible in v4?

You create an audio track, lets call it "Drums". All tracks you want to route to drums go to the audio out pull down, and select "drums" as the output destination. You will then have to choose monitoring for the track "drums".

this is what i love about live 4. conventionally, in cubase or PT or whatever, you would have to create a channel JUST for the sub group use.

now, we can use any channel for that. ANY channel can go to any channel!
any channel can RECEIVE signal from 1 or more channels, and it acts as a GROUP channel.

so....yes....

another option would be to use a return channel. set the drum tracks 'audio out' to 'sends only' and for the return track set it to wherever you want its sound to go to.
added bonus, if you have lots of tracks and several busses: you can hide the return tracks when you don't need them, and when you do, and make them pop up again, they will always appear at the right side next to the master section (taking priority over the clip tracks).
