[ink] destorted sound on fast scrubbing

Computer: MAC MINI
OS Version: os x 10.5.6
2GB, 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo
Controller: Taskcam FireOne
Interface Type: Firewire

Version:Ableton Live 8 Build: 8.0b16

Description:
When scrubbing real fast with the midi controler button sound playback is destorted.
After some wait the playback returns back to normal.
Pressing the playback stop button returns back to undestorted sound and < 100% processing power immeaditly.


Severity: high
Reproducable:always
Project: Live 8 Demo.als


Ways to reproduce:
1. Start: Ableton Live 8 Beta
2. Click: Menue: File Click: Open Recent / Live 8 Demo.als
3: Scrub: FireOne Controller Button left and right real quick in time line track view

Result: Audio destortion. Processing power above 150%

Side note: This might be very well just an issue with the processor capabilities.
Might be set to as designed.

Hello, Kai,

the processor load seems rather excessive, and i would expect
this not to be larger that 50%.
It is not on similar hardware i checked.

Just to be sure, you were using the document titled
'New in Live 8' which is referenced from the lesson ?

Could you please recheck if that problem persists in a recent beta ?

If it does, i will try to have this checked on exactly your hardware, if possible.

Also, there is a known deficiency that the sweep through the
song time is not throttled by the speed with which audio files
can be loaded from disk so that there is the disk overload "D"
and silence during the sweep. (Same happens when sweeping through
the arrangement by dragging the bar counter of the transport
"Arrangement position" with the mouse)
These also may unfortunately lead to cracks.
