I don't know how to edit the title of a post, because I'm internet literate, so I'm creating a new topic to tell those of you that may use this feature that it's gone in iTunes 8.1.

Are you trying to pull the files straight out of iTunes (as in the program GUI where you pick and play songs)? I've always had to use Live's browser on the left hand side and choose the songs from whatever library their stored in - in my case, the "iTunes" folder I created on my external drive.

Yeah, dragging songs from iTunes playlists in iTunes into Ableton Live. It worked until iTunes 8.1, as a number of us here and at ALDJ used this to easier manage our sets.

I've only dragged from the itunes window a couple of times, but would normally use the Live Browser...

I do find it hard to manage playlists this way though cos obviusly in the itunes folder they would always be sorted by Artist/album etc...Does anyone here, other than pre loading files into the actaul project file itself, know of a good way to manage playlists inside the Live browser? Does this require duplicating the original song file? My concern here being any analysis file and warp markers set would only be attached to the duplicate, and not the original....

eh? Yes you can. I've just installed itunes 8.1 update and can still drag tracks into Live.

For me I can drag to Logic and Garageband but not to Toast, Live or Quicktime Player. There are a few posts on Apple discussions from others with the problem but no answers. At the moment I am working round the problem by dragging into a finder folder and then into Live. What a pain!

Live's browser sucks balls for finding tracks in large libraries. If you are using dual monitors it's the coolest thing EVER to be able to have itunes on one monitor and drag directly from itunes to Live. If you're only using 1 monitor then you probably don't know or understand what pure bliss it is.

Luckily, I saw these posts before updating itunes. Hopefully they will fix this in the next update cause til then I ain't updating.

Are you sure you're not trying to drag and drop a protected file?

yes sure.

Dragging from itunes 8.1 to Live still works on my macbook.

no bs , itunes 8.1 , latest live 8 beta . . mp3 and aif files.
