[5154] scrubbing while operator is sustaining > crash

it took me almost an hour to isolate this problem. i actually have gone channel by channel disabling stuff.. and at the end i found the bastard channel

the attached project has only one operator, playing sustained single note with one oscillator's envelope looped: i have crashes if scrubbing on arranger every time the note is sustained
the same with other type of loop envelope, not just beats.

http://www.beatbank.it/tmp/bugs/scrubbing.zip

the file also contains some bug snapshots created after the crashes.

i tried reproducing this by making a new operator patch, but i wasn't able to. so i stopped (really need to have some things done now :))

hope this helps in some way
cheers

ok.. i was back working on the tracks and trying to make an identical patch from scratch.. guess what. it still crashes :) i found out that spread is

i found out a way to make a new patch crash:

drop an operator (default patch is ok)
change osc A loop to beat
rise spread (this is essential)
play a midi clip with a sustained note
crash

now i think it's enough :)

so bad.. spread is not the only parameter to make operator crash

here's another preset i had in the same project which causes the same behaviour, even if spread is set to 0

hope this helps even more :)

Hi,

The bug has been "identified", so, don't bother searching for more. Thanks a lot for your investigation!

Amaury
