I am trying to use the EMU Proteus X2 VST synth in Live 7 and am not having much luck. The Proteus X2 always works fine in standalone mode, which doesn't help since it's not rewire compatible. The Proteus will load in Live about 20% of the time. When it doesn't work, Live just freezes up and I have to end program on it. I have tried changing several settings, but cannot determine a pattern as to why it works part of the time. Is anyone using this combo successfully or using something with similar problems? I'm at a loss. Thanks for the help!!

Well here's an update on this problem. I was going through EMU's website looking for help and found there's a free Proteus VX download that's pretty much the same as the Proteus X2. Well I installed it and everything works in Ableton! It's pretty lame that the one I paid $100 for over a year ago won't work as a VST but the free one will. Oh well. I got all my presets loaded in it with no problem.
The only issue now is that when I save a project that has the Proteus in it, Live closes when I try to open a new project. It doesn't give any errors or anything, just closes. I can deal with that I guess.
