[amo] 8b25 analog fine semitone tuning anomaly

Post by ark » Thu Mar 26, 2009 6:00 pm

Please look at http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=111105

I believe that the problem described there is as follows: If you adjust the "Semi" knob in an instance of Analog while holding the ctrl key, the knob does indeed move more slowly then when you are not holding the ctrl key. However, the semitone adjustment still goes only in steps of 1 semitone; there is apparently no way to adjust the pitch in finer increments than that.

Moreover, even though I can type a number of semitones into the dial, the number gets truncated to an integer number of semitones.

Hi,

I moved the thread away as there is technically no bug here. Generally, semi-tones knobs don't have a fine tuning capability, they always go from semitone to semitone. The ones in Impulse are an exception, and the problem reported in the other thread is under our radar.

The fact that the fine tune modifier just makes turning the knob slower is not that elegant, but is nothing new either.
