I needed a digital kick drum so i used operator and i found out it is possible to synthetize very deep sounds in few minutes. my problem is achieving that high frequency digital noise that comes when synthetizing a kick, what am i missing?

to make this clearer here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHgxbQ_sbcc.

thanks in advance for your answers

I haven't got sound on my work computer, so I can listen to the example...

I' guessing you want a bit of white noise for the attack transient of the kick, right?

1. Put Operator in subtractive mode - (four coloured blocks arranged horizontally, in the algorithm menu)

2. Dial in a sine wave and add a pitch envelope (you've probably done that already!) - tweak the volume + pitch envelopes.

3. Using a different oscillator, select "Noise" from the waveform menu, set the coarse tuning to a high value and tweak the amplitude envelope - you'll want fast attack and decay, and no sustain.

4. Tweak the envelopes again until you're satisfied.

OR

get MicroTonic: http://www.soniccharge.com/mtonic

edit:

OR - try putting Live's Erosion effect on your kick - keep it in Sine mode add some digital grit in the high frequency range.

ok thanks for the answer, i tried what you suggested me, that goes near but not exatcly what i was lookin for.
so i found this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IpWSItt ... re=related here we have the noise without using a second oscillator with any sort of noise or effect added.
also..
on this website http://blog.loomer.co.uk/2009/02/kick-d ... spect.html at the top of the page you find the 808kick sample. well..when i listen it i can hear the noise...if i download it on my computer then the noise disappear...i'm lost!!
