Thanx for "Live"..
But the Live 8 made me disapointed, a little..
because:
at Namm09
* the greatest news was apc40.. (we wil pay for it .. ofcourse)
* than, other great news was "max4live".. (and I heard that we wil pay for it when available... I was thinking its free with Live 8, its my mistake)
* than, this "sharing live sets around the world" feature.. (today I saw at
the bottom of the page on
www.ableton.com/share Pricing information is currently unavailable. So this means we have to pay for using the sharing feature... why!
* and the Live 8's uprade prices are quiet much than older upgrade prices.. (think please! we will pay for all the great featurings above, already and why the simple application upgrade costs 189 usd) is it because of the 5 new effects?.

Now, I'm beginning to feel, Live 8 might be my final upgrade! They can't charge us for every damn feature.

Atleast let the Suite owners get Max4Live and Sharing for free

The suite owners don't get max4live for 'free'. It won't be available until near the end of the year and it will cost money, lots of money as it is the full max/msp/jitter package embedded in ableton live. expect it to cost as much as max/msp/jitter if not more.
Also, where did you hear the sharing thing is free to suite owners ? That sounds wrong.
bonehead indeed!

What would you guys do, starve the engineers? Lookit, man, you got to pay to play. You entitled bastards who think a team of engineers should be working for free for your dream features can eat me.
These guys roll fair and you get value from their upgrades.
Maybe you should look to walmart for you next DAW.

I'm no shipping tycoon with loads of $$$... but with respect to M4L, that would be like asking for
Reaktor for free with Live 8.
As far as the share thing... that'll prolly be some sort of monthly subscription service. I think that they explained they gotta figure out how much the extra bandwith and servers and moderators, etc. etc. is gonna cost. Unless we wanna see a bunch of Google ads and a couple of porno links? Then they could host it for free.
And lastly... this revision of Live is no
simple, run-of-the-mill, update. This is as big an overhaul as I've seen.

Did I say you get it for free? Read my words correctly. 5000 posts and we are still learning to read, aren't we?
And for those, who think Engineers need to live, Cubase, Logic and other DAW companies have software engineers too! So, don't get me started on that one...

Don't tell me people are going to get bent out of shape about paying for share. Then don't share your crap, easy as that. I think this is amazing, it's like paying a ridiculous rate for studio time with possibly a whole team of people coming together. This just might change the way the whole recording / music industry works in a few years....

But seriously, max4live included in suite...is...kind of..........far-fetched.

Yeah you're right, Groove Agent, Virtual Guitarist, Virtual Bassist and Wavelab are all included with Cubase.

And they throw in the dongles for free! The only other thing you have to buy is a usb hub.
