Authorize OS 9.2 and OSX on same box

Greetings,
My unlock code from OS9 doesn't work in OS X. IS it acceptable to authorize it twice on the same system that has *both* OS's installed?

yes you can generate you a new response key on the website. the serial number you used for downloading the update is valid for a new response key after downloading.

I installed the OS X update and authorised it first because I didn't plan to use it in OS 9. But now it won't recognise my Griffin imic input under X, can I authorise an OS 9 installation after an OS X one until this is fixed?
