hey
since Live8 that plugin creates stuttering in Audio and gets horrible slow when turning any knobs - with Live7 everything behaves fine
would be nice to see that fixed

Hi Verstaerker
Same problem on my macpro : every time I use a UAD Cambridge VST plugin (adjusting EQ gains) it creates a big CPU spike (often more than 100%) which of course causes the audio to be cut & stutter.
It does not happen with the AudioUnit version of the UAD Cambridge plugin but we have to use VST versions as mono versions of the UAD plugs only exist in VST format...
I did some tests and found out that it was clearly linked to the new way Live 8 deals with plugin parameters, in the classic Live interface: when I load the VST cambridge and adjust gains, the problem appears. But if I add the gain parameter I want to adjust to the classic plugin interface (using the "configure" button), then the problem seems to disappear...
I hope that no other plugin is concerned.
I just mailed Ableton support so let's hope this gets fixed ASAP...
Here is the info about my system:
LIVE 8.0.1
MACOSX 10.5.6
MacPro 2008 (2 x 2,8Ghz Quadcore XEON)
6GO RAM
RME Fireface 800 / last driver 2.62a
UAD Quad / 5.3 software
Cheers
Romain

Hi
I got an answer from Ableton support: they are aware of our Cambridge problem and are working on it.
It seems that the new Live8 "configure" mode for plugins has introduced a few problems but they should be taken care of quickly (I hope so). Fingers crossed...
And to be honest I love the new Live 8 features (I'm in love with the Collision instrument, the vocoder, the group track, the MPC grooves...) so much that I haven't really considered going back to 7. I've had a few crashes, there are a few bugs with 3rd party plugins, but it's not that bad and should be better really quickly.
By the way I don't have any problem using the Cambridge AU version, I'll check it out.
Cheers

that's good news - and yes of course Live 8 is great - i did not even consider going back to 7
i the meantime i saved a preset with Cambridge VST and the proper mapped controls, wich makes it useable

I've just emailed Ableton support, this bug has not been corrected in the 8.0.2 update...
Not a big deal, but it's strange that they didn't fix it while they were aware of it...
Fingers crossed for the next update
Other than that, 8.0.2 seems to be a solid update!
Cheers
