Step sequencing Live 8 with MPC pads?

I'm trying to step sequence Live with the MPC's pads. (X0X-style step sequencing) Ive read that this is possible with Live 8? I can't find anything in the manual about this

The 16 MPC pads should represent the 16 steps (16th note) in Live, and if I press pad 5 it should place a note on the midi grid in Live on step 5. How do I set this up and can I step sequence more than one sound? And if I press the MPC pad softer, will Live register and record a note with less velocity? And if I press pad 5 again, will Live delete/mute step 5 in the sequencer?

you'll be able to do this when MAX for live is available.
You could do it right now if your up to learning MAX.
Other options are to go take a look in the tips and tricks forum.
ore specifically in the racks thread, there are a couple of emulations
of old school modular type step sequencers in there.
