live 8 looper to send midi status

a big problem with joining disparate systems up is that the master controller often has no feedback from the other systems.
I use puredata to control live, and I have to make assumptions that the looper stays in sync with my pure data master controller.
It would be great if the looper could have
* midi status of what it is doing
* midi clock output on beginning of loop
that would make integration tighter and safer.
The best thing would be to expose all of live's internals with an API that we could use to turn it into whatever we wanted.
