I'm curious as to how I'm supposed to warp stuff now with this new warp system... This first picture is how ableton does it when I leave it to auto warp with 'complex'
I would think it should be like this no?
do I need to move each beat to the closest 1/4 marker? or should I just leave it as is. what does everyone else do?
best

as long as you're consistent to your own style, it doesn't matter.

Live is giving you a "transient marker" at the start of the sound. Now you can create a warp marker by doubleclicking on it. And then you can drag that marker onto the grid, thus moving the sound's graphic visualization on the grid.
So you will want to move the marker and the sound to the grid. On your second picture the marker is set a tiny bit before the sound starts - this means that on the beat you have a little bit of silence and then the sound starts. You most probably don't want that - you want to start the sound on the beat.
With the old system you would move the grid, while the sound's graphic visualization would stay unaltered. Now you move the sound onto the grid.
Both ways have the same result. Sound starts on the beat.
