What is This Plug-in?

Hello all,

This is my first post, although have been using Suite Edition for a while.

My question is, 'what is the plug-in on the Telefon Tel Aviv video'. If you look at the point where he shows what is happening with the beats skipping around. What is that plug-in. It is really interesting and have been trying to find out what is, but obviously do not know what it is. So this is why i am asking here.

That was about it...

You could at least post a link to the video. They've done more than one you know!

I think he means the stuff at the end of the video (not the mannually done stuff, but the pseudo random cutter). If that's what you're after you should take a look at mdsp's Livecut : http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/2005/07/livecut.php and maybe Bram's SuppaTrigga http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=6 .
Hope it helps.

No, it's not, the guy clearly states that his buddy uses a (vaguely defined) granulator plugin. And, I in turn, clearly stated "not the manually done stuff". I don't understand what's good about pretending to not understand the question. The OP asks for a plugin, and he sees, just as we do, that the main focus of the video is the guy messing with the wave in arrangement view.

Now there are thousands ways to achieve interesting results in that respect, but just saying "it's ableton Live" as if all posters were fools doesn't teach anybody anything.

Cheers Mock, stumbled accross this thread by accident but thank god I did as I've been looking for something like livecut (FREE) for a while and it works beautifully!! :D

Sorry, I meant to write "That is Ableton Live." Better?

I understand the question perfectly well. He said "what is the plug-in on the Telefon Tel Aviv video. If you look at the point where he shows what is happening with the beats skipping around. What is that plug-in."

He asks what plug-in is shown in the video, and specifically says to look at where the beat is skipping around and asks what plug-in is that. That window is the ableton live clip window, like it or not mock. You say "The OP asks for a plugin, and he sees, just as we do" - you can see a plug-in? Well you should get to know ableton a little better before accusing people of a bunch of garbage. I can see the clip braces and all the rest of the ableton gui. If you can not, it is not my fault, and please get your eyes checked. He does not ask what the granular plug-in was that used to record the audio file. How would anyone know that? And he did not ask what plug-ins make that type of effect (though it is still a fine suggestion). He asks specifically what is shown there. Perhaps he doesn't realize that moving the loop brace around makes the playback position jump around and rearranges the audio in realtime and assumed that it was a plug-in doing that. It wouldn't be that crazy of a mistake, and it is worth it to inform him that in fact what you see is ableton live.

So to Igemusic: In the video, when he mentions a plug-in, that was not shown and was most likely not even being used at the time. It was probably just used in bouncing down the audio before hand. Ableton Live clip view is all that was shown and was being used to remix the beat. And by the way, welcome to the forum! :D

Well i have been using Livecut and SupaTrigga for a while now, few years. But prefer LiveCut, really nice, plus more parameters to mess with, lovely. But thanks anyway for the recommendation.

and glitchrock-buddha. I know it is Ableton Live, I know they use Ableton Live, I use Ableton Live, I know what Ableton Live looks like and does. But he clearly states in the video that it is a plug-in to do the loop skipping. That is all i wanted to know.
But if this is done just in Ableton Live, then fair enough...

to elaborate on my  :

unless I'm watching a different video, glitchrock is correct. He mentions his friend using a "random granulator thing" to "do these little design things". He is skipping around in the loop by moving the loop marker in clip view not by using a plug-in.

what he means in the video is that 'normally' his companion also does these kind of things with some granular plugin..
what his companion also showed him is this need trick in Live; scrubbing the loop position through the sample..
that is what he does.. no 3rd party plugin.. (mind you, the source material might already be granular-cut-up-ish)..
when he refers to "you can move this slider around", he refers to the Loop Position slider in the Sample Properties box, in Live..
you don't see that in the video, but you clearly see the loop brace jump around..

his companion 'might' use Splitter from the Reaktor library for which TTA did preset programming..
