Nexus and Live 8.0.1 problem

Hello

I get the message 'Cannot find a valid liscence for reFX, would you like to locate it?', I point it to the licence.key file and the same message appears again. If I click cancel, there is no sound...
Nexus works fine (still) on Live 7.0.15 and I even uninstalled/reinstalled the VST to no avail...

This is happening in Live 8.0.1 and I'm using a Dell Pentium Quad 2.4 Ghz, Vista Premium 64, 8 GB RAM.

ask over in the REFX forum, they're usually very responsive.

thanks for the reply remute99

however, since nexus works fine in Live 7, it looks to me as more of a Live issue than a Nexus issue.

this is only one of the many problems im having with 8.0.1 & VST compatibility, for now i feel like i just wasted $159 because i am still using 7.0.15 :(

I've seen weirdness with the latest Live updates (in my case, it's the 6.0.11 update released a couple months ago) and dongle calls myself; something goes screwy with the initial scan and the first dongle call made. With me, it's the Arturia Prophet V; Live hits that during the initial scan and then crashes. Since it's at the very beginning of the scan (I use subfolders by vendor), it's not pretty. However, I've found a way around it. Try this:

Move Nexus out of your plugin folder and trash Live's preferences. Start Live and reset your plugin folder; it'll scan your other plugins. Reboot your system, move Nexus back to your plugin folder and start Live; the plugin should scan normally. See if that fixes it.

Hey OP.

Try this ASAP.

Right click on Ableton shortcut or .exe and make sure you RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Many times that is the issue with authorization and Windows Vista+ systems. I have also noticed that if you don't run Ableton 8 with Vista support mode, once you change automation by hand/mouse live, the whole screen fails to update and jerks the knob - well it is really awkward to explain.

Hope this helps.

Nexus 1 running perfectly stable in Ableton 8, I must say it is one of the most stable and easy going plug-ins period!
