Has anyone tried one of these with Live yet? The SCS3m could be an interesting midi controller..


Id like to know if there is an editor where you can set the control types and numbers, midi channels, and so on. And how it feels to use in general!

If they could easily handle (as Stanton says they do) 4 tracks volume fades with 4 aux faders x4, 4 EQ faders x4, and 4 clip triggers x4, cue buttons x4 and 1 master level EACH, it would be a pretty awesome and cheep alternative to say a Lemur. 2 of those, and you got a really nice 8 track setup!

Its not a Lemur, I know. But at that price range you don't have to be so worried about`em, and they should easily fit in any gig bag.. I also DJ, so that could double up the use.


If they have it in any shops in my town, I will go down and try it after the holidays here. (about a week)

Curious about these. Anyone use them?

Well i got one. (SCS3d)

The are pretty nice to handle. You have to install a software called daRouter where you load presets. These presets tell your SCS3 how to behave.
As far is i know darouter works with bome's midi translator.
So i think you could make yourself a preset the way you like with that.

I have a Bome license, but that app is to difficult for me to comprehend!

But as long as there is A: an editor that comes with it, or B: there's a preset that works good with Live, it should be no sweat? I guess the faders work well as is, but buttons might need two different modes in Live, to prevent the need of having to press twice for solo etc.

When you select between say deck A or B, you double up the amount of controllers, right? Does that work with Live?

The simple preset works well with live. Got no problems there, just midimap ur liveknobs ...

Yes. You can map every knob in deck A and then map deck b to totally different things if you meant that.

Well, i don't understand that question? What exactly do you mean with program change for the 4 touch strips, within one "deck"?

Does it work like:
A. "It's pretty good, does a few weird things sometimes, misses or misinterprets a few gestures, but overall pretty good"
-or-
B. "It is rock solid, never messes up, & I'd trust my reputatioin in a live gig with it!"

I would go for B. Did a few (3 or 4) livegigs with it, and it worked fine all the time.

I mean, does it work as a midi controller with Live, as it does with Serato:

Press the FX button: the 4 touch strips is say now midi channel 1.
Press the EQ button: the same 4 touch strips are now midi channel 2, and so on.


I would guess its like this!

Well yes you can. But keep in mind that the behavoir of the strips changes for each mode. For example in Scratch mode you do not have 4 strips, but only the outer circle and one strip in the middle. In FX the strips behave like normal sliders, with starting point at bottom. In EQ mode the strips behave more like typical "EQ knobs", that means the starting point is in the middle of the strip, so that you can increase and decrease the value.
