BBE Sonic Maximizer VST Installation Problem

just rec'd bbe sonic maximizer. installed with the (cheesy) zero G web installer. i noticed when that the installer could not see my plug-in folders!!!!
i have tried draggin' the 'SonicMaximizer' plugin to the %local%/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST folder to no avail -- Live 4 does not see it. i have tried setting the Live 4 Custom VST Folder pointer to the BBE folder (with the plugin there of course) and still Live 4 does not see it. i have tried hitting the rescan button in both cases and even option-rescan to comletely rebuild the list. still Live 4 does not see it.
anyone else have this problem?
