any one can help?..
live 4 application icon cannot be (drag)mounted onto the dock on mac OSX only on desktop..
also
can't seem to be able to select anyother settings except factory settings on audio effects ,midi effects and instuments..

You need to get the newest version of StuffIt and decompress your Live download (.sit file) again. There was one version of StuffIt that didn't decompress applications properly and your problem is one of the side-effects.

BTW, others may tell you that your can launch Live, and then right-click or control-click on the Live icon in the Dock and choose Keep in Dock. This will work, but will not solve the underlying problem.

You may also want to use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions on your drive.
