Hi,
After struggling a bit initially with the new warping method (as being so use to the previous methods)
I decided to make a video tutorial to help others with the transition.
Hope you get something useful from it:

oh snap, DUDE! I think you pretty much solved every complaint people have had about the new warping system with that tutorial. very well done sir, I learned much from this.
neat trick holding down shift with a warp marker already in place. good find! I had to write that into my manual.
also thanks for showing me the ctrl trick too, very helpful

Jesse, thanks for posting the video! You really nailed this subject.
This absolutely solves the problem of anyone complaining or having trouble with the new warping engine. I guess there are about 10 posts related to this matter in the forums.
I would suggest you post this at the tips and tricks forum. To be honest, this deserves to be a sticky post!

Must ask some forum admin to do this, what do you guys think?
Thanks again!
Daniel

Nice video, I'm sure that will clear things up for people. Though I do find it funny that so much of using the new warping method relies relies on holding shift, which merely makes it act like it was in version 7 in the first place.

Just a little tip because it would cut your video 40 seconds shorter:
You don't have to create a second warpmarker and do the shift-pull to get the waveform at 1.1.1, there's a right-click command called "Set 1.1.1 Here". That will make that chosen point the start point and it will set a single warpmarker there. You will only need to change the loop brackets.

Nicely done.
Btw, you can also Zoom in and out in the lower part (where the speaker icon appears) of the waveform by holding Shift.

thanks man - very clear in your explanation
i didnt know about the cmd - click over pseudo warp markers to bring up 3 yellow markers - very handy
also you can cmd + I to insert yellows anywhere on the time line instead of double clicking or shift + cmd + I to insert a pseudo anywhere
