Hi. I've found out that the part of makeing music I think is my weakest point is making drums. I mean, I love banging out beats on my nanopad, but it seems like they always ends up sounding either a bit weak or just not fitting(talking about the sound not the playing).

I got superhooke on the Maschine when i saw it but after some thinking i have to admit that when i can afford a new guitar and maybe even the apc there is no money or space left for å full maschine.

What are good options that sounds banging and works good inside live. I'm a bit tired of the preset impulse kits.. Please help me out.

get an mpd32. you can get the mpc feel without having to learn an mpc. there will still be midi latency but that's what you get with VSTs and plug ins.

or wait until you get the APC, learn to live with it, save more money in the mean time, then see if you need more gear.

Hmm, maybe i was a bit unclear. The playing is not whats bothering me. I don't need a mpd. I love playing my nanopad. I need some strong sounds. Sounds in all kinds of directions. Sounds that fit ambient, sounds that fit techno, sounds that fits noizy sludgemetall. sounds dude. The nano has pads i love to play. its all about the sounds =)

I really like the machine drums and session drums in the EIC.

the "All The Breaks" sample CDs are amazing.

as for genre specific, that always seems to be in the ear of the artist.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a website, PresetNation, and they have a library, in fact a library based on the Library of Babel,a story from Borges. Anyway, this library contains every sound that was, could have been, should have been, will be, should be, could be, made. If your after sounds, go there.

http://www.goldbaby.co.nz/ If it's sounds your looking for to load up in Live. I can tell ya drumazon and nepheton from d16 are really good sounding drums as well for you 909/808 sounds. With the apc, drum racks and some good sounds i think you'll be able to achieve the results. motu bpm is supposed to be similar to maschine and then theirs Guru.

battery has satisfied me for a while.
i do want to get a really good jazz kit soon but battery is great for percussion.

very versatile especially when combined with ableton
and you can usually find it somewhere for 100 bucks

Find battery 3 used. Lots of people are selling it right now because of the insanely low price of komplete. It's even worth it just for the library. If you like the maschine kits, you'll like the battery kits. Many sImilar or even the same. But more of them.
