Digi002R/crackly input

I really love Live 4, but sometimes I encounter issues that never occured in 3. First of all, let me voice my opinion on NOT being able to select your interface's I/O menu from the Arranger window. I'm sorry, but that is absolutely senseless. This is the window people prefer when just wanting to compose in a way they're familiar with from other sequencers. If I want to add a synth part using my MS2000, I have to go to session view, choose my input, record, switch back to Arranger, etc..!!!! WTF? You add all these great improvements to Live but you went backwards in other areas! Let me stay in Arranger View and be able to select Digi002 INPUTS 1-2m, like I used to be able to, AAaaaargghh...

Anyways, did I mention I love Live?

So my problem now is, once I have the MS2000 piped into an audio track, I have clicks and pops, distorted signal, which I never, ever had in the past, with the same buffer settings and everything. Changing the buffer setting didn't help, in fact, it froze up my session entirely, had to force quit and re-launch. What the f*** is going on!?!?!

Seriously, I'm not one to complain much and it's my first day with Live 4 (1.5 years with Live altogether), so maybe I need to be patient and things will iron out, it's just, you know, frustrating to have a brand new basket of issues that never occured before...
