I have it hooked up and went the the m-audio website to download the drivers but when I hook everything up live doesnt recognize it. I can see it in the preferences midi section but if I hit a button I dont see the midi light in live light up. Can someone help. if you need more info just ask... thanks guys

Have you enabled track etc in prefs? Set up a track with the midi input coming from the uno? I don't know what settings the uno has but sending midi from the mpc into live shouldn't be a problem. Sounds like maybe something needs setting on trhe mpc. There's a few people on here who use mpcs with live so they'll be better equipped to help you.

Came across this thread:

Page 2 has info on midiing up an mpc and live. I was posting as starving student posted but he knows a bit about mpcs.
I know track prefs and all that is obvious stuff but if everythings setup on lives end then ya kbow it's a problem with the mpc. Have you tried connecting anything else to the uno?

No this is not a hoax, Im really trying to hook up my mpc to live. Im going to try the link, maybe its the way I set up the mpc or maybe its the uno, because when I just record one track on the mpc and play it back the midi out light flashes on the uno. And If i just tap a pad I dont see that live is recognizing it. So I am totally lost I thought I did everything I know how to....

options - preferences - midi
find the port for your sound card's midi
open the help box (lower left corner of the Live GUI, hit the little triangle and leave that box open!)
remote - lets you control live with controllers
track - lets you play notes into Live (you want this one)
sync - lets Live and the mpc sync up via midi (don't worry about that for now)
just to be clear, when you say record, you mean you record midi events and play them back.
the mpc is connected to the uno with a midi cable? mpc out to uno in?
short, clear questions and descriptions will get answers, you're coming across kinda vague, that's why those clowns thought this was a send up.

Thanks family, It took a while for me to figure it out, you cant hear anything with midi, and you see it in live by the EXT button. so I have my mpc 500 connected to uno( mpc out to uno in) i didnt do this the first time. I know this might not be clear because Im excited to see my mpc control live. Too bad I only have two outs on the mpc if I had more I could have recorded more tracks at one time. I was trying to not only control live but also hear the samples that are on my mpc by just hooking it up to my Midi int. I just figured out that I have to use my audio interface to hear the audio, dahhh. Thanks you guys were a lot of help I think Im beginning to love this place. I also have a website
http://www.myspace.com/gc4eternity would love if you guys could check it out, I have music up there. Thats me rapping, I recorded at home, same mac Im about to use to make my beats now...yay
P.S. the content is very christian....

that's a common misconception with midi. starving student knows the mpc pretty well, he's usually pretty good help.
with your flavor of hip hop, I'd be curious about your take on this thread

lame as it may sound I respect people who can rap without swearing, I swear in just about all my posts, I don't mean the content, it's about ability and not taking the easy way out with word play. I was a bit surprised that you use gun imagery though, that's another common one I grow tired of.
good luck, it can get weird in here, the forum's pretty much unmoderated but there's always something to learn or laugh about.

That link was cool, so what do you mean, ability, could you elaborate for me. Do you think I have ability or am just playing on words. I'll admit on a couple I do but not most...

I was just acknowledging that you don't seem to swear in your raps, I didn't listen to many though. I'm no prude with words but I appreciate that, it takes maturity and thought. just about every time someone freestyles they hit the swear words and 'bitches' and 'yo', I call that stalling, it's weak. dunno, I'm at a loss for words and gotta go get dinner.
I have been thinking about your post and with your music (and probably your entire life) you put a lot of love to God and Jesus, but you're OK with gun imagery? to me that seems like a philosophical conflict, what's your take on it? I don't mean to be a hater, it's philosophy.
