Inserting tracks from one live sets to another NOT working.

I noticed this too just now. Dragging, double-clicking, nothing works.

8.01/WinXP.

does the problem occur with any tracks/sets or just with certain ones? Which operating system do you use?

Hello Jörg,

It occurs with any track/set I try, my sets are around 40/50 tracks midi and a few audio they can grow to
300 minutes long and 4000 lines deep.

OS is xp 64, wen I try drag track into a set he doesnt even pick it up (I dont see the mouse holding it).
When I then drop he loads a few sec but nothing happens, didn't work from the start that I used Live 8.
Sometimes he doesnt drag a clip or instrument either, this is easy solved with cut and paste.
The track inserting is a real problem.

Ok thanks for the effort, atm I am getting new problems... Midi clips that cant be moved, cant be cut or even copyed... The right click menu doesnt even show cut paste or copy.

I can't drag whole tracks OR clips into Live 8 that were produced with Live 7.

Note that my Ableton Tracks / Projects all reside OUTSIDE the Live library (is this significant?)

I don't have the same problem importing from tracks created by Live 8.

I am experiencing the same. Strangely, if I have at least one clip-view clip on the track, then I can drag the clip into my project and load the track that way. If there are no clips on the external track, I cannot load that track into my current project.

Just a thought:
Does it work for you if you drag´n drop a clipless track to the tracktitle bar area instead of the clip/device drop area?

Yes, it does work if a clipless track is dragged & dropped onto the track titlebar area! That's good to know, thank you!

Is this gonna be resolved this year? It's very annoying....

I cannot drag any clip or track in a huge deal of my projects and it's causing a lot of extra work..
If you can't make the drag and drop function working this summer,,, then please make a drop down menu option to insert...

The drag and drop function is very very very unstable in every big project for intruments well everything...

Tyred of working around problems at this point I hope before ableton 9 comes out live 8 will be working properly...
