25 key controller

Well it shouldn't be this hard, but yet it is. I want to buy a 25 key controller just to play bass parts, new or used, no bells or whistles, solid build, and good key action for this purpose.

Suggestions ????

I personally have the MAudio Axiom... But you should look into the MAudio Oxygen.

I have the Axiom 25 also. It has a useful Live pack. http://www.ableton.com/livepacks

I play it in the middle for basslines and such. Nice price for the features.

I, too, have the axiom 25. I find myself not using a lot of the features, though I like it a lot. I think if you want a simple controller, simply for bass, you'll probably do fine with a less modded model, me thinks, but it seems you have three for the axiom, so it might be a logical choice.

m-audio O2 is good. the O2 is really thin for those who want to store it in a back pack with less bulk found on some 25 key controllers.

I have the MAudio Oxygen 8 v2. 25 keys, 8 knobs, pitch and mod wheel, transport and octave controls, and only $100. The keys feel just fine and dandy and the sucker is ultra portable.

What's your thoughts on full action keys vs some of the ultra slim half action boards available? strictly for playing bass parts though.

I bought the Axiom 25 after I played a bunch of keyboard controllers at the music store. IMO the Axiom felt the best. I actually thought the Axiom wouldn't suit me, since I wasn't interested in it's drum pads, but after playing it, the keyboard felt the best. Since I've owned it, all the controller have become really useful too.

Well I decided to gamble and buy the yamaha kx25. A little more than I needed feature wise, but the price point was reasonable.

I'm thinking of getting the Akai MPK25 whenever it comes out. I wonder how it will compare to the Axiom 25?

the knobs on the akai controllers are not detented, which means they don't click like on axiom controllers or novation's remote sl's(a huge plus for me),and they have good spacing between them, faders are really good as well, but the pads on the MPK's are the worst i ever tested:squishy as hell, the axiom's are much better
put those akai knobs and faders(with the spacing),the padkontrol's pads and the axiom's keys, along with automap 3(or another intelligent protocol) and lcd screens(for visual feedback) on a controller, and it's perfect in my opinion.

where's my APC-40?they told me mid June yesterday..........NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :( :( :(

hope that helps!
